Buying the end of this article, you must know enough about the car GPS unit to enter the market with the knowledge and confidence.
What product manufacturer should I buy?
Since I only mentioned the factory in the U.S., so I just say a few words about each of them.
Garmin has the broadest and deepest product lines. I love their new nuvi really a lot! Re Sleek and indeed they have a lot of articles as a small package.
Tom Tom has been getting closer to the U.S. for a very aggressive price. If you want a more complete feature model than the One, 3rd Edition, then, how the GO 920T, which Consumer Reports who recently mentioned and as one of the best GPS to buy. Now, you cost a little more than $400.
Magellan is a sort of grandfather of the field. They are one of the first companies to enter the car GPS market. I like their Maestro line for one of the best reasons I like's Garmin Nuvi line.
In addition, Magellan has a great program for AAA, which is programmed before the Tour Book impact of their rights. I m lover AAA. So, for me it was a big selling feature.
Of course, there are other producers of these materials other than Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan, but because the three control about 90% of the U.S. market, I can not see a reason to buy anything else.
Now we ve a say about who is doing auto GPS units, let's talk about what features you should consider.
What I wanted to do my new GPS - instead of telling me how to get a place?
Where to show off and tell you how to get places, all GPS units touch screen, a database of preprogrammed destination (called Points of Interest, or POI's), and before you bring a map, usually from at least under 48 U.S..
Other features you might want:
- More maps
- Even the name of the street (not just the Turn Here!)
- Real-time weather and traffic alerts right to your device
- Bluetooth, so you can make hands-free phones when the vehicle
- Some point routing, so you can enter more than one goal in one trip
- Bigger screen (4.3-inches instead of 3.5-inch - measured along the Diagonal)
You can get additional maps, saying the street names, and real-time weather and traffic signs (with subscription) is only about $200! The Garmin Nuvi 350 can do this fine.
If you want Bluetooth, then you can get a wider screen and about $400. Another double track routing cost $50 to $100.
Surely there are more articles, but this is the main. There sa lot of competition in the $400 auto GPS market. Around $400, especially Garmin's all. So if more re ready to use, really need to see them Nuvi 700 and 800 p.
Hopefully, this will help you wrap your mind around the car GPS market units a little better!
